Yeah, the V6 gets slightly better mileage than the I6 did, but it's torque is less and you have to go higher in the rev range to get it.

Jeeps can be surprisingly hoonable. The little XJ weighed under 2900 lbs in RWD configuration, and with the 4.0L Inline 6, it had loads of torque. In spite of leaf springs and a solid front axle, I had nearly as much fun on road as I did off road in mine.

The legality of coloring outside the lines in an emergency situation is an arguable point. I was responding to the EMT's suggestion that there is never ever any reason to drive like that by pointing out that cops have instructed me to drive like that.

I run the brakes on my bicycle Aus/Euro style just for that reason. Right side front brake, so I only endo when I want to.
