You could also say that each Lannister brother is one half of his idealization. Jamie the panty dropping best swordsman in all the land. Tyrion the self taught master tactition with a heart of gold. That way each has their weaknesses but encompass everything that GRRM wants to be.

I was under the impression that GRRM was cousin Orlaff, smashing beetles with a rock and going “KUUU! KUUU!” (it’s allegorical)

I mean, that we know of. Here’s a good post with the theory about it. And GRRM has always teased that there’s supposed to be a big surprise, something that not a lot of people believe. That could be about Jon, but most of us feel comfortable with the prediction R + L = J, plus the teasers for the new season seem to

Hmmm, Robb’s been dead for a couple of books, but he’s still a bigger character than Arya?. Tyrion’s a much bigger character than Arya, though Arya’s the only POV character who’s been in all five books?

Another candidate:

Incorrect, the main character and the one who will ultimately sit the Iron Throne is...

And yet Peter Dinklage keeps getting nominations and awards for supporting actor.

Me too! My brain was screaming for Claire to GTFO that whole scene, it was both a relief and a bummer when nothing happened.

Maybe it’s the Catholicism in Matt, but he never once seemed to waver in his belief that he was right in all things. Which made him an interesting character to play Elektra, Punisher, Karen, and Foggy off of, but didn’t actually make him fun on his own.

My big problem with this season was similar to last season’s and to a lesser extent, the problem I have with just about all superhero movies that take themselves seriously.

You couldn’t be more right about Frank’s mini gun. The Hand’s whole deal is that their numbers are limitless. I don’t care how contrived it would have been. The fact that we didn’t get a scene of Matt and Elektra facing certain death at the hands of 50 ninjas only to be saved by a certain skull clad mini gun waving

Very good summation of my feelings about this season. Certainly more good than bad.

If Marvel gets FF, I really hope they do something ballsy with it. Make it a period piece. Set it at the beginning of the space race, just like the comic was. That way, you can tie it in to Agent Carter and early SHIELD/Hydra.

Still trying to figure out what went wrong with this season. The first four episodes were great. There was a clear forward momentum, even as different side plots happened they pushed the narrative on. The balance and interactions with the cast were great. They did the Punisher while rightfully calling him out on all

On the one hand, yes, Foggy is smart and logical and a great lawyer and all that. On the other hand, I really wish the show would just have Matt sit him down and explain that while the justice system is a wonderful idea, it doesn’t really matter when you’re up against a mystical ninja death cult (or people who can

In many ways the second half to the Punisher’s story was more interesting than Ninjas everywhere. To me at least.

What I love is how brilliant Foggy is at talking people down from violence — first the biker, then the two guys in the ER. Daredevil would just overcome their violence with slightly less violence, but Foggy overcomes their impulse to violence purely with words, with ideas, with sincerity. That’s a real superpower.

Woah, such coarse language from the lead of a network tv show.

It says a lot for Haley Atwell’s talent as an actress that she conveyed so much with looks and awkwardness rather than exposition and lines. She really is fantastic.

It’s a bit disappointing that the shared Marvel Universe that everyone else is looking to as the way to tell stories these days isn’t even consistently shared within Marvel itself. How hard can it be to ask the movie creative teams to be kept up to date with what TV is doing? Or even watch them; they’re really good,
