beaTunes [www.beatunes.com] does this very well and automatically for your whole collection. Then writes the data to the song's ID3 so that iTunes et al can see it too.

Not really a DIY thing here... but Silica is now used on wasp / hornet nests. Apparently powdered silica dehydrates their guts them and kills them.

The one built into winrar is very good, especially if winrar was used to compress the file.

@churstblock: I can confirm (without a shadow of a doubt) that Apple themselves uses Magic Eraser pads (totally dry - Damp and they are more abrasive) on white trackpads. Just make sure you're gentle.
