@ossuary: I'm originally from the UK and washing machines since the end of twin-tubs have always been front loading. When I moved to the US I instantly fell in love with top loaders. It blows my mind that front loaders are considered trendy / fancy / expensive over here. Front loaders suck on so many levels and the

Here's an article idea / question based on something my mother always used to tell me (which makes it an old wives tale I guess).

@mcservies: Sadly not... well not just by adding an optin. Optins help with conversion (in the end). In other words, you need traffic first.

@Scar3croW: The site looks nice. If you're getting traffic you might want to an email optin. You can call it a newsletter or Design Buying Resource Guide or something. It doesn't really matter what, you just want something that'll make them give up their email. MailChimp offers free service for up to 500 (I think)

Something I've done (and would recommend) is to avoid using the word Free and use Pro Bono instead.

@tevyaw: I'm not certain that dropping a link to a $150 course is a great idea on Lifehacker.

@infmom: I would love to serve (which I'm sure means i would be disqualified). Sadly, I'm not allowed as I'm a resident alien. That didn't stop a county court from sending me a letter though. Not only did they call a (fully registered) resident alien but it was for a county I didn't live or work in. The address on

@infmom: I fail to see how. No court would ever consider a letter being sent standard USPS as proof of receipt.

@Bilsko: This is the true boot they're showing you here. Not the bogus "I can see desktop therefore I'm booted" crap Windows tries to pull. I have some extremely well spec'd PCs that I've optimized Windows on and a 25 second boot is an impossible dream for me.

@glukes: Really? I've always said you can spot a true southerner (or someone that has become acclimatized) b/c they no longer wear shorts in the summer.

It's not about being passive aggressive or thinking that salesperson is a dirty word that can be used as a sly insult. It's about talking to fellow human being as a.... human being!

I have a house full of dryer sheets and oddly enough just discovered we are out of aluminum foil.

Well, I guess that explains why all-of-a-sudden WM stopped picking up the occasional extra bag of trash text to the can.

Wah, wah, wah.

Whoa. Rosie Rosie O'Donnell is the second cheapest thing on Amazon.

Sweet, thanks! Got the article sitting in a tab for later.

Masking tape and the inside of the front door. Works for bills, netflix / redbox returns, the kids etc.

The problem with essential oils is that they don't always smell that great. Some are ok... but regardless they are expensive.
