Most of the distilleries I’ve been to (and I’ve been to a lot) sell their spent grains to farmers for cattle or pig feed. They extract almost all the sugar, but there is still a lot of protein and some decent vitamin content they don’t use.

To be fair, the Cloverfield Monster in Charlie Kaufman’s movie is just common human intimacy.
