That’s spot on. Plus, the first teaser (that was about 10 seconds long) for Incredibles 2 has Bob Parr - who is clearly surprised - saying to Jack-Jack: “you have... powers!”

I get this impression it’s not so much “dad’s can’t parent” but more that Jack-Jack’s emerging powers are proving too much for Bob.
