Nintendo have had a strange e3. I mean, for all intents and purposes, the World Championships were awesome - a really cool way to get gamers playing their games and having fun with it. Then came the digital event. Now, don’t get me wrong, I am a day one purchaser for StarFox and Mario & Luigi Paper Jam, but there was

Those, plus the rather wonderful looking Dreams from Media Molecule sent me into a tizzy.

I am so, so happy. Shenmue and Shenmue 2 are amongst the best games I’ve ever played. When the theme began to play this morning (UK time oh man I’m so tired) I nearly wept.

Hopeless prediction: Beyond Good and Evil 2.

I asked for Ryu when Nintendo put out the ‘What Character Do You Want’ micro-site. So, no, not ‘literally no one’...

I’m disappointed that it’s been leaked so early, but you can hardly blame Kotaku* for reporting on it. Why is this content even available on the game yet? Why are players able to hack the game to make either character playable? It’s more Nintendo’s fault for allowing this to happen. Of course gaming sites are going to

Welp, looks like I’m buying The Wire again. When it arrives, I’ll hand off my DVD collection to someone who hasn’t seen it. I’m nice like that.

the PS2 version is easily the worst.

Now playing

Let’s not forget Stephanie Roche and her incredible Puskas-shortlisted goal (should have won, in my opinion).

Thanks for sharing. Signed.

Yay for equality - I’m a fan of the women’s game and it’s good to see it getting some recognition in video games. Of course, there’s idiotic whining over on Twitter because of this, who seem to think this is more important than other things, such as corruption and 1,200 migrant worker deaths.

From a single player perspective, it was the little touches - I think - that set it apart at the time. The fact that my silenced pistol wouldn’t alert guards to my presence; that I could shoot out the cameras to give myself some breathing space; that shooting enemies in certain spots had them react different ways.

Holy shit, schadenfreude has never felt so good.

Yeah, and its ending was brilliantly handled too.

Yeah, that was brilliant - especially Nux holding out the clip helpfully for Max, despite the fact that Nux had been draining his blood while Max was strapped to his car. Nux was brilliant, throughout.

Can I just do a quick shout out to Rosie Huntington-Whitely in this movie? She provided easily the two most heart-stopping moments of the film:

I’m hoping for co-op to be an out of the box feature. One of my fondest gaming memories was playing two-player on Grosse (Doom 2) on Nightmare and watching my friend - as she opened the first door - get turned inside out by a Cyberdemon rocket.

Anywhere around Wolfenstein: The New Order’s speed would be a-OK with me.

Has Double Barrelled Shotgun. Am in.

“These games are great” Hahaha I lost it at that line.
