Ultimately the father’s rights have not been extinguished and it was his preference that she be placed with his relatives where she would live with her own sister. Moreover, I think that screaming and crying while the child is being taken was a great way for the Pages to make this more traumatizing for the child. I

Her father always had parental rights; she was never their child. She was never adoptable.

No, they haven’t. She’s been with them four years, and they were told at the outset (and repeatedly thereafter) that she was not adoptable and that family reunification was the goal of her case. As responsible fosters they should have put her interests before their own by trying to facilitate that reunification in a

Her family members that she is being placed with are not relative strangers. She considers them family. They visited her (on their own dime, from Utah) once a month, and Skype with her every week. That foster family purposefully and selfishly created a traumatic situation where they could have been following the law

Seriously, read some of the source links, the foster parents are assholes. They love her, I’m sure, but they’re being assholes and are actively keeping her from family that always wanted to keep her.

Her father is a member of the Choctaw tribe, so it really doesn’t matter how many parts she is.

That’s how the facebook statement reads to me too, as though she is property and they are exploiting the imagery of a crying little girl to get what they feel is theirs back. She belongs with her father’s relatives and they should not have obstructed that process.

Or maybe it was cruel of the foster parents to keep her for all these years fighting a custody battle they could never win because under the law they have never had any legal leg to stand on.

Yet again illustrating how anyone who uses the phrase “paid by with your tax dollars” sounds like an asshole.

I feel for the little girl, pulled apart in all this mess.

Hey, I’m covered under a religious plan (spouse is a clergyperson) and my insurance covers contraception AND abortion for any reason I want.

Rly tho I’m onto you Mitchy

I think once you take a single cent of public money, you void your right to cry about you religious views. Take government money, follow the law.

Maybe these religious organizations should start paying some taxes before they think they can decide what is and isn’t covered by health care.

I love that, for these people, filling out a two page form is an "undue burden" but 48 hour waiting periods and making women drive 400 miles to the nearest Women's Health clinic isn't.

Oh she should talk about it, it just stood out to me that nowhere in her own account of the whole thing, nor this outlets coverage of it, did it mention anything actually being -done- about it.

We want to make sexual harassment verbotten but then we give nothing but “attagirls” to someone who goes looking for instagram hugs instead of real justice when it happens.

Get yourself a picture!

I fucking love my country.

I’m disappointed he didn’t try his baby balancing trick.
