Yes, for duct tape. Manco’s Duck brand is better than 3M, but for masking tape, 3M is far superior than Manco’s offering.

The octane is higher (though not significantly compared to ethanol), but the mass and volumetric energy density is lower than gasoline and ethanol.

There are several reasons to add the gas to “denature” the ethanol, but yes, the regulatory reason is because the ATF (ATFE now I guess? They added explosives) requires it to be undrinkable for tax purposes. There are a few un-denatured bulk storage tanks at ports, but it must be denatured before leaving port…
