I’ve done over 27mpg with my modified GTO. I could see 25mpg being a relatively easy acheivement with a manual SS, a light right foot, and an primarily highway commute.
From what I’ve seen, you wont ever find one under 35 grand used.
I’ve been actively shopping. Used ones go for 40ish. Annoying because I know they were likely bought new for that price
I bet you could swing 28+mpg on this thing with a light foot.
It’s a way to pass a few bucks. Can’t imagine why they’re losing money every quarter.
So they are making everything dealer installed options, that is one way to pass the buck.

No they aren’t. They are just having difficulty selling them at the price they want rather than the price they are worth. That is the part of capitalism that corporations don’t like, they want to decide prices not the consumer. If they drop their prices then they’ll sell the cars.
