I won’t speak for the rest of Canada, but trust me Quebec is just as bad...

Clearly John Tavares’ grandmother.

I like the move, I just don’t like the fact that both times he used it he was up 40-0. Doing it at deuce to gain advantage and mess with your opponent’s head on game point shows shrewd tactics. Doing at 40-0 seems more like showing up your opponent.

I’ve always thought Musk is targeting the wrong part of the equation with this project. Why not send the freight through the tunnels instead of the people? Imagine the difference to road traffic if you took 18-wheelers off the road. Not to mention freight can wait quietly in line for it’s turn and doesn’t get

One of these things is not like the other...

Any restriction on him getting paid to play in the CFL for two years? Kind of like Austin Matthews forgoing junior hockey to get paid in Switzerland.

You guys are WAAAAAY underestimating this. At a large enough company I have no doubt you could go years. I’m convinced there are people at my work who have done basically nothing for entire careers.

You could actually read the post, see that Drew explicitly said that while his flight was late he didn’t go because he “didn’t feel like dealing”, or you can just keep being an asshole on the internet. You do you.

Then he should have declined up front instead of bailing at the last minute.

Fair enough. I’m saying that Drew should chip in for the 50 lap dances they bought for the bachelor, not for everyone else’s drinks.

“By the way, I went to a Vegas bachelor party once and skipped out on the obligatory strip club visit because my plane had gotten in late, and because I didn’t feel like dealing.”

Or as I like to say - there are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

I’m going to be unpopular and disagree on this. It’s common practice that the bachelor isn’t going to be paying for anything, and costs are going to be split among the other guys. Drew’s on the hook for his share.

“Also, why the fuck is the owner wearing a goddamn jersey”

She should order a Montreal bagel just to watch the heads explode.

I can’t be the only one who wants to see this experiment re-created by Drew Magary.

I really want to know what’s in the briefcase. I mean - the only reason to bring it is as a fashion accessory, it’s not like he was taking notes or something. So it’s empty, right?

I didn’t defend anyone. In fact, I explicitly stated that performing this check only on this couple is clearly racially motivated. I agree that the assumptions you stated are offensive as hell, that doesn’t change the fact that the Southwest employee clearly made them.

While you are correct that this is a legitimate check that gets done, I think you are wrong to say there is nothing racist here. My wife does not have the same last name as our children, and we have never been asked to provide any proof of parenthood or custody.

The Southwest employee was checking against the possibility that the father was stealing his child and running away with his white girlfriend. While the application of the check is definitely racially motivated, it is a real thing. From Air Canada’s website:
