I lurve Kate McKinnon, and if I had some sort of guarantee that she would be in at least half the movie, I would consider it. But she probably just has a couple of scenes and I already saw them in the trailer. I’m not paying good money to sit in a darkened room thinking “OK but when is she coming baaaaaack.”

After seeing “Moana” with the kids the other day and discovering that Jesus Fucking Christ, he can sing, too? I remarked that the rest of us might as well pack it up, because The Rock has clearly won the human race.

I have to confess that I find The Rock super attractive.

The only award I could see it really having a chance at is Best Picture and maybe some acting noms and a cinematography nom. It at least warrants a Best Pic nom. Personally I thought Arrival was Best Picture of the Year, which I also saw at TIFF. Arrival should win all the awards.

Donald O’Conner performance of Make Em Laugh is the best performance every put to celluloid. Others have tried and failed.

As an native Angeleno, the thing I hate about these supposed “love letters” to my city is that 1.) they’re always white-washed to all hell and 2.) most of the time, they’re never even in L.A. proper. Santa Monica, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and other places on the Westside where they always seem film these things…

LA Story is one of my favorite movies. Completely underrated.
