Everyone of the R’s that didnt stand up to this should be ashamed to be a Human Being. Forget about the politician part, just a decent human being.

Fair enough, and good points. But it does kind of ask the question then, why 2 heavy carriers? Assuming the RN can outfit the QE and PoW with F-35B’s, thats more of an offensive weapon, which would seem to imply a need for significant escort ability.
They are definitely not designed for gunboat diplomacy. However, they do have areas they should be protecting in there national interest. I’d assume there is a regular patrol near the Falklands, Diego Garcia, and the Gulf. It’s not a lot, but when you have so few ships, it is. IE, 1/3 in for maintenance, 1/3 on…
I went to one of these when I was in Texas once.. (Was in my 20s and from the NE). I have no clue why I was there, but it was truly one of the most bizarre experiences of my life. It was held in a high school gym or something (community center maybe?). Aside from it being incredibly boring, I mean, mind numbing…
4th most Capable.. Ford -> Nimitz -> DeGaulle -> QE
Oh, no doubt on any individual ship in the RN Fleet. I think the RN does a better job probably then the USN. Before we retired the Perrys they were armed almost no better then a coast guard ship.
Half right.. I’ve rarely if ever seen anyone in NYC complain about tourists. We actually find them quite comical trying to navigate the subways with there fanny-packs and lost puppy looks.
The T26 does look nice, it’s in a Frigate class but looks almost like a small Burke. Decent amount of VLS as well. I wish the U.S. would look at something like that instead of the LCS, however it looks like it is only slightly cheaper then a Burke.
Ug.. Trump..
Funny you should mention the V22, after I posted this I read another article on the Brits (and U.S.) using it as a tanker. I’m a bit dubious of that.. but i’ll wait and see on that. There is talk of replacing the Greyhounds in US fleet service by the V22 which would be terrible (lack the range, and carrying…
Can you elaborate on the U.S. Marine component of what you wrote about? Are you saying that there is plans to keep a constant squadron of F-35B’s from the USMC operating off of the QE and PoW? Or just saying that in time of conflict the ship would be inter-operable with the USMC?

I’d bet over the next 50 years there is a 95% chance the QE doesn’t go anywhere w/o American support (real battle area). The F-35B is awesome, yes, but virtually useless for fleet defense out past a few hundred nautical miles (even that is pushing it w/o Tanker support, which is impossible w/ a ramp).
Nah, her problem was she came off a stark raving lunatic with a not well thought out argument. I dont agree with anything she said, however, it doesnt look like she prepared at all for this. It looks like she went on looking for a fight, that was evident from the moment she opened her mouth. That tells me she…
Off the top of my head? I dunno, a Black only Memorial Day party..
Nuclear weapons are certainly a part of it, but not all of it. Intermingled trade, and a strong democratic leadership of western countries led by the U.S. is also a huge part of it. Backed up by the might of the United States armed forces. Europe didnt defend it’s self for 50 years.
Name another time where major powers havent gone to war in a nearly 80 year time frame. You would probably need to go back to before there was such a thing as a “Major” power.
I never said our Government is perfect, but the Military is a tool of our Civilian Government. If we elect people that choose to use them to do stupid things, well, thats on US not on the Military.
Uh, your talking about the guy that died 80 years ago? You think the U.S. is even remotely the same now as it was during the Spanish American War?
Go back and read these one day, I implore you.
