Nope. A UK person here. We are part of the the European Union.

Agreed. I'm at a loss as to why so many black people, particularly black women want to defend this guy. Seriously, in the last week or so he compared himself to Solomon Northup - a black man wrongly enslaved for 12 damn years. Who the hell does that?!
You make some really valid points. However, I just can't with Kanye. He makes it hard to root for him. Kanye has lost so much credibility because of his narcissism. If you look deeper into his narcissistic rants you will find elements of truth. However, no one is listening because of all that damn noise.
Talking about ethnicity I am black British the child of working class immigrants from a former British colony. I guess you are white too.
I'm from the UK . I disagree. People could and did transcend their working class roots. You may not have had full acceptance because of snobbery. However, your wealth and success would open doors and your children would marry marry into the elite. And in a few generations your working class roots would be forgotten.
I'm not using class I'm using race. You can transcend your class but never your race - no matter how high you climb up the social hierarchy. A poor white person may not have access to education and opportunities like a middle class white person or wealthy black individual but in a white supremacist patriarchal…
I thought they was only one definition of people of colour: those who are not classed as white. However, they are people of colour who have white passing privilege. However, I was not referring to them.
I think that applies more to American Jews than European Jewry. In the US black people are the primary other while in Europe Jews have been the primary other. Are most Jews white though? I always thought that the majority of Jews were people of colour.
I love the domestic goddess ( and I'm no hypocrite ) but I think it's more than dabbling. Saatchi is in court today so we probably get some more details. Hopefully this is the worst of it. She doesn't deserve it. He's a vindictive and abusive man who feels hard done by. However, it's all of his own making.
Maybe they thought it wouldn't get this far. Also I don't know why people think these allegations are so far fetched. Nigella after all is a celebrity and I think most of us would agree that the average celeb may have dabbled with drugs or been in the vicinity of drugs. I wouldn't be surprised if is was true. Only…
True or they've taken a course on race and gender. So they are in a better position to talk about anti-black racism than black people..
It looks painful. doesn't it?
I'm calm. You are the one saying 'you people' and enough with my attitude'. I find when people start to use othering language and tone policing is because they are angry/irritated /annoyed.
Whoa! This is classic case of tone policing which is what white people do when black people and other people of colour call them out on their race privilege. You are trying to make this about my so called attitude instead of your racism and race privilege.
Whoa! White tears! Why can't we talk about anti-black racism without talking about other oppressed groups? It's so unfair of blacks. Whites were oppressed too for being white and black people are just as racist.
I know. They didn't have enough money. He explains more in the Q&A http://www.pbs.org/wnet/black-in-…. Happy Viewing.
Apologies. Yep. I think that you can find it on Youtube but for your convenience here is the PBS link http://www.pbs.org/wnet/black-in-…. The series looks at six Latin American countries: Mexico and Peru, Cuba, Brazil , Haiti and the Dominican Republic. If you have time make sure to read the comments.
Lol. Slavery wasn't prevalent in UK. Thousands of black slaves were brought to Britain by slave ships. In the 18th Century rich and fashionable white British ladies had black child servants. Yes, other people were and are oppressed but we are talking about black people. Why does that upset you so much?
So you are more upset with the OP calling out white people than the racist act? This is so typical of whites. Acts of racism hurt black people. You having your feelings hurt is no way comparable to the racist fuckery we black people experience every day. As for your comment that white privilege is an American thing…
Me too. I thought she has to be white because I know it's hard to see racism when you are white. Professor Louis Gates had an excellent series on Blacks in Latin America (PS) and from watching these episodes I can tell you that racism in Latin America is alive and well. It's just different to the racism in the US and…
