I’m still not sure who this thing is for. Like, what’s the audience for a low end hand-held game-only computer? You can get a gaming laptop that does everything it does better, and everything else a computer does, for not much more money...

It only really matters in extremely motion-intensive games like FPS and fighting games. Most games that aren’t like that, you’ll never really see the difference between 30 and 60.

A mid-level studio putting out games that don’t necessarily make headlines but get a lot of purchases would be a great place to start testing how heavily they can push pro-china messages into a game before it becomes an issue.

There was an article a while back where the producers of the games talked about what four was going to be like. You were going to play as Ellie, trying to survive on the ruins of spaceships and surviving starships in a debris ring around the earth.

So. It would’ve probably been pretty cool.

I think this is why Tencent is going around buying little bits of every gaming company. To quietly force small changes like this across all games.
