Every time someone says “I’m building up a tolerance”, my response is the same:

Was the kid who attacked the cat mentally ill and/or suffering from some developmental disorder?  My kid is 12, which means I know a lot of 12 year olds.  I don’t know any who would do this to an animal, though.
