Baseball is really screwing itself. This sport, more than any other, is nostalgic and comparative with its past. By messing with the ball itself, MLB will be taking away much of what people love about the sport. 

To an extent, he’s right. Teams want these guys great to go right out of the box. They see a guy outperforming other college/league players and think that’s how they’ll start out in the NBA.
