A franchise that never attracted women or black people in the first place

I agree with this take. I personally think The Force Awakens was the best of the trilogy, but Last Jedi was perfectly fine. I thought Rise of Skywalker was a mess.

“didn’t like them because they thought Lucasfilm should’ve done the Thrawn Trilogy or whatever.”

a franchise that never attracted women or black people in the first place.”

Why does the presence of more than one non-white male character bother you?

I mean could it be more obvious?? It had a female character with a non-natural hair color. You literally couldn’t be more SJW if you tried! Or something, idk, the arguments for that point of view are kind of insane so I don’t actually remember.

Minorities and women everywhere

Man, I was alllll set to thoroughly agree with every word you said, and then you went and snuck these flamin’-hot takes in there:

It sounds like you’re more of a superfan than most of us.

Pretty sure the PrequelMemes crowd *are* kids. Half the memes refer to parents/teachers, and they wax nostalgic for cartoons that aired just a few years ago.

But has she seen The Mandalorian? That shits great

Congratulations?

Wow, you like pain

The offical AV Club party line is that The Last Jedi was an amazing movie that revitalized the Star Wars franchise, and if you didn’t like it you are a sexist CHUD who deserves to rot in your parents’ basement for all eternity.

There’s a very contrarian bent when it comes to Star Wars in certain places, especially here.

Star Wars films can never be accused of being great art, but they shouldn’t be boring. TLJ was dull as hell.

Hell, The Last Jedi was one of the best things to happen to this series in decades and people are still arguing about how it was actually bad.

Barret: “AVALANCHES DON’T CLOSE DOORS, THEY BLOW ‘EM RIGHT THE F*CK OPEN, YA SPIKY-HAIRED ASSHOLE”
Cloud: “Okay fine, I’ll stop closing doors.”

Cool. Now require a Mature rating for these for-money gambling mechanics, both direct and abstracted.

Ban them. Not this pussy-footering about with ‘oh, we’ll warn them on the box’. If you have a loot box system that runs on a gambling mechanic, you’re either hoping to snag or trying to create addicts.
