Absolutely agree with all you say here.
Thank you. I couldn’t have said this better.
This reviewer is obviously to me someone that hasn’t raise a child or understands what caring for another person means.
Also come on. I’m still in the grays. I’ve been commenting here about 10 years and I would claim I haven’t been misbehaving.
Mjea, I think HOD and ROP are the opposites.
Agree with this 100%
Well I respect your opinion but really this site is the only place almost where I find people that think the MCU is doing well as it is now and that HotD was bad.
We all remember you were less than intrigued . You have offered up Lord of the Rings as a contrast and compare and that is the series I found supremely wanting. The main lead, I found her painfully generic. Many of the supporting players almost inert. The look of the vistas, the sailing ships, the landscapes were all…
There is a reason this film was one of the most highly rated of the last year, but it requires the ability to enjoy and understand subtly and beauty rather than noise and flashing lights. Perhaps your time would be better served going to watch yet another CGI fest, because the adults dont want you to contribute…
This review is so wildly and amateurishly off-the-mark, it makes me honestly sad at the sorry state of criticism on this site. You needed voiceover to understand what was going on? For real? “Show don’t tell” is a golden rule of screenwriting for good reason and this film does a beautiful and precise job of it. Is subt…
Not terribly sure why this would be news. I’m significantly more surprised when a non-network show actually airs one season a year these days. Even a lot of small order comedies are regularly taking 18 months or longer to crank out a season. Every year I get caught off guard that What We Do in the Shadows actually…
Totally, utterly with you. This film is absolutely wonderful, with one of the most powerful yet understated last lines of any film I’ve seen in recent memory. Anyone who thinks the lead actress’s performance is lacking is just terribly uninformed. Between hers and the lead actress in Aftersun, we were treated to two…
Sorry you missed all the significance of it.
How about not making the third act a CGI cartoon of faceless drones shooting light beams at each other?
Also, let’s keep the movies trim. I was going to watch Wakanda Forever on Disney+ last night and it’s 2 hours and 45 minutes long.
I think the genre bending aspects of the MCU are a bit exaggerated - Winter Soldier was an action movie from beginning to end - literally from the opening fist fight, car chase, and shootout to the climactic series of explosions.
i think it also might be worth pointing out that feige...maybe...just got really lucky and isn’t some brilliant tactician.
I’m definitely in the superhero fatigue camp, but it’s more the quality than the quantity. Especially with the MCU, all these movies look and feel exactly the same. I know that’s by design because it’s a shared universe, but god I find it so incredibly boring. It’s always actors standing in some Atlanta warehouse with…
This guy has a real ‘lectures you about eating meat two days after going vegetarian’ vibe to him.
While they can speak to similar issues of representation, I’m not sure Azaria voicing Apu (and the question of whether voice actors need to match, loosely or precisely, the ethnicity or background of their characters) actually relates much to changing the backgrounds or traits of a live action character (you could be…
