I dunno man, this series is substantially better than GOT at its worst. Isn’t that all we can ask for?

Also, I’m pretty sure Daenerys was the one doing the subjugating in her FWB/NSA arrangement with Daario and Arya came onto Gendry, then laughed in his face when he proposed to her later.

I’ll be the first to admit the showrunners fucked some of the sex stuff from the books up in outstanding ways. Namely the scene where

I felt for him. The actor did a good job there of showing how he doesn’t just jump on this as soon as she kisses him- there’s some real danger to it and he knows it.

  • Otto gets his gossip from an anonymous source he calls the White Worm. Is this person House Of The Dragon’s version of the Master of Whisperers?

The White Worm refers to Mysaria. Just like the masters after her, she has agents of “little bird” children in King’s Landing, but the title is more confusing here because in the book, she is so deathly pale that not even blood of Valyria would compare.

Jenna, why do you review a show that you clearly hate?

That’s all well and good, but in the US, the context for a statement like this is very, very different and definitely racially coded. Context matters, and in the US, telling a black or brown person that they speak good English definitely smacks of condescension.

He said “be able to put together.” Seems pretty unambiguous to me.

Cultural genocide means something different from genocide.

to be able to put together a phrase like ‘cultural genocide’ just speaks to how bright he is.”

Holy shit, that’s not what Downey said at all. Read it slowly again, cracka:

The irony: a native English- sorry, “American” speaker being less articulate in Engli- again, sorry, “American” than Innaritu.

It’s accurate. I mean, rather than give a superhero role to an actual African people, they made up an entire country to please the white Americans who read comic books, because like hell would America ever like to think that any real black race or nation could produce a superhero.

Giving a pass to racism, now that’s not clownery at all!

It’s racist dude

Cultural genocide is a real, serious thing, and it’s not something as trivial as “they’re making too many superhero movies.” And that’s an especially silly take coming from a guy whose most famous film is about superhero movies (and stars the actor who headlined what is arguably the first modern superhero film.)

I think it’s possible but highly unlikely. Knowing RDJ’s history of responding snidely to critics, I think it’s far more likely that he probably thought he was making a really clever and sly jab at Inarritu about being “articulate.” His general response when he gets angry about something seems to be smugness.

Sure...Mr. comic book movie man is the smart one here.

Read it slower. Let’s think a little harder here.

If that’s your interpretation of RDJ’s comment, you are indeed living in a bizzaro world.
