I didn’t know she had retired tbh

I don’t mind the 4th wall breaking. Like you said, she has a rich inner life, and that can be difficult to portrait on film.

She’s fundamentally different because her introvertedness and meekness were the catalyst for the plot in the book and that’s not the character we saw here. She may still be those things in this adaptation, but the trailer conveyed the opposite.

Clueless is a bad example because what it changed was the setting and outward trappings but it was still faithful to the characters and the story.

I absolutely understand the vocal fans.

I feel like Jackman reached a point where he didn’t need Wolverine anymore.

If a work is already an adaptation of something else then having another go at it is not a remake, it’s just another adaptation.

Most of those shows are very popular indeed with white people in the US’ East and West coast.

At this point I can’t tell if you’re being dense or intentionally obtuse.

While that poll shows that it isn’t used very often by Hispanic people, 4% of them is not 0. It drives me crazy when people pretend that it’s never used by anyone who isn’t white”

One might say that he is too old for this shit.

To paraphrase from Mark Fisher’s Capitalist Realism:

Spousal abuse aside, people were already fed up with Depp this past decade regardless. I heard an audible groan from the audience when Colin Farrell’s character turned into Johnny Depp in the first Fantastic Beasts and that’s a story that I’ve heard from several other people.

Born in 91. All the 90s Batman movies were out by the time I started watching them and never particularly cared for any of them, Keaton’s included.

“As someone who has now reached legendary status himself”

You’re an idiot

For a show that has lasted over two decades and is going into its eleventh season, which depends on its cast members like DiMaggio returning for it to work, that is a pittance.

Except that Shakespeare is good, while Rogue One was a mediocre at best movie.

The difference being that Shakespeare is good, while Andor will end with Rogue One, a mediocre at best movie.

People complain about House of the Dragon but THIS is what strikes me as a pointless prequel.
