Came here to post this car, leaving satisfied. These are so cool, and they sound so fantastic, I wouldn’t wish the ownership experience of these cars on my worst enemy. From what I gather, no matter what you do, they spend far more days in the shop than they could on the road...it sounds like mostly pure misery before…

That’s where I’m at now, too: I’ve sworn off them. I had to go through two engines and one transmission on that car, and when it started puffing smoke at startup again I was just done with it.

Honestly i would recommend another GTI. The Mk7 model is vastly better than the MK6. The DSG is great. Get one and give it a rear sway bar, good tires, and aa Cobb AP with the EQT stage1 tune and youll have a car thats quite quick with over 300hp and that can get high 30s mpgs, while seating 4 and having cargo space.…
