I ordered a 2005 C230 Kompressor and waited a couple of months for it to be built and shipped from Germany. I wanted a manual but my wife couldn’t learn to drive one so I got the auto. She never drove it for all the years we were married. It was a great car even with the auto. I recently sold it... to get a car with a…
I’m pretty sure he took those photos with my Motorola Razr from early college.
Got it. One thing about the new ones though - they all have the sport seats now, which is pretty cool.
I don’t want to like them, but I do. I’ve never leased a vehicle, that’s the only way I’d get into one of these. Does LR extend the lease term for every day its in the shop?
Stick with cars made in the 2000's. I’ve found that’s the sweet spot. Modernish ammenities and power without the electronic nannies and sensors and screens.

Honestly, if I was the kind of person who had $35,000 cash to just drop whenever, I’d absolutely buy this.

With the existence of the Miata you are so right. Even more damning is that the WRX and BR-Z exist from the same manufacturer. Those cars were fun a decade ago and they’re still fun and you have ~$15k for mods or a daily or repairs or whatever.
“and it’s still one of the most attractive affordable sports cars available”
I still have an auto daily because my husband and I are barred from buying cars for the next few years (a pact between us), and “dead inside” is accurate
I just want to say that because of you all constantly talking about manual shifting I realized that I was feeling dead inside every time I drove my AT car. That said, I bought a new GTI this week with a 6-speed MT. Thanks for reminding me that driving a car can be fun.
