I don’t see it so much as CG (3D modelling) as merely compositing, which is an extension on editing.
Many old animations used glass mattes, back projection, travelling mattes and overlays, and this is merely the modern version.

Look! Camera trickery and not a computer in sight.

There are scripts and plugins that do it, in Maya you can do it directly in MASH.

It makes total sense to use chroma keying and compositing to produce such complex scenes. It’s too easy to make a mistake and wreck everything, not to mention the extra effort.

I think the whole Claymation concept takes on a new level using such techniques.

I just hope he one day gets high enough to see the curvature of the earth just before his oxygen runs out.

Science, like karma, is also a bitch.

Only immature idiot Americans would put vile crap like that on their lawns.
It’s about time time some people grew the fuck up.

Become?
It always was. RTD was a rabid Whovian long before he got the job.
And Julie Gardener and Phil Collinson weren’t much better.

Unless we are talking about limbo dancing.

Or has that happened before?

Artificial gravity is an internal system.
(and most sci-fi never explains how it works)
The only realistic method is using centrifugal force, which in in this case would actually repel any bombs dropped on it. (if they could be “dropped”.)

Let’s face it, it’s scientifically crap.

Ignore all the pseudo-crap.
You still cannot drop bombs in space.

It has if you are still using shitty American TV standards.

That is utter GENIUS!
Great idea, and a really catchy song too.

I asumed that is what this article was going to be about.
“The Lawnmower Man” and “Virtuosity” spring to mind.

Probably because good British TV doesn’t travel well.
He’s done some excellent stuff, and loved doing it.

Shakespeare and good TV.

He’s British.
it seems Brits have been cast as bad guys for decades now.

“But hey, if you want an excuse to take shots at Americans, I’m sure you can find better reasons.”

How about the only country in the world, (bar Myanmar), that hasn’t adopted the metric system?

Maybe convince the Japanese they are some kind of quadrupedal whale.
