Jesus. 77°F is 25°C. That is nuts. It’s one thing to be working in an office that doesn’t have air conditioning, so it occasionally gets that warm on summer days, but quite another to aim for it. I’m a girl, and that is TOO HOT. Are the rest of you secretly lizard people? You are. I knew it.

Hi! Overweight dude here. I’m a big guy... 6’2”, 225 lbs...

Okay, this all made some form of sense until the temps were mentioned. 68 is a warm house to me. 7fucking7??? That's fucking hot! I guess I'm not as cold a person as I thought.

I mean this is jezebel its like 4chan for women

What a mean spirited post. Some guy feels insecure about his appearance, and your answer is to write a rant at him about his privilege. Unbelievable.

Honestly, it is PERFECTLY FINE for you to say, “I’m not up for this, I don’t need or want it in my life.” But the attitudes you are putting forth are generally considered pretty harmful to a person who is experiencing depression. Depression doesn’t have an “off” button. It’s not “looking on the bright side.” It’s not

....Stahp.

seriously, this comment is like a glaring ‘HOW NOT TO’ warning post.

I dated a depressed woman for almost a year and it’s something I will not do again. We agree on that. But, we disagree about nearly everything else you wrote and frankly, you comment shows either a complete lack of understanding about what depression is, or a stunning lack of compassion.

You seem to have a lot of resentment about this issue, you should probably work that out. Your post sounds very much like the “bootstraps” thinking a lot of conservatives like to champion. I also recognize that I don’t have the patience for being in a relationship with someone who is depressed either, but this stuff

depression is something someone can only fix themselves

Holy shit. Everything you just described is the ANTI-THESIS of what someone should be doing to help those in need. Depression is literally a chemical imbalance, what you just wrote is the equivalent of yelling at water to turn into wine, “JUST DO IT, hurry up and turn into wine, what are you happy being water?”.

Things

I think you might have stopped reading halfway through, because we devoted an entire section to taking care of your own needs and how important it is that you speak up about your feelings. No one ever said it’s your fault for choosing to be hurt:

Yep. Most everyone I know that has a Nest is either going to replace it soon or has already replaced it. Sadly it’s a dead product as nothing has been done with it since the Google buyout.

This being my field, I vote for the Ecobee 3. Having installed and worked on the Honeywells, Ecobee (Smart, Smart SI, and 3), and Nest, the Ecobee wins hands down. The Nest is great for people in apartments, but if you’re not in view of the t-stat for most of the day, it’s not great. It also has limitations on what

After a short time, you’ll be able to stop touching it entirely, and it’ll automatically raise the temperature when you get out of bed, lower it for bedtime, automatically adjust for the seasons, and more.

Great article. As the poll shows, the Nest is still the gold standard, but the Ecobee3 is hot on its heels. Check out my full comparison of those two devices here: http://arijaycomet.com/2015/07/10/rev…

Kind of funny that when women have various issues surrounding body image and so on, we empathize with them as victims of a cruel society. When it’s men who have issues thanks to being raised with the same kind of gender-specific brainwashing.....well they are just assholes.

Yep. Seriously, battery. battery. battery. battery. That’s it for me.

I hit the wall you are talking about a LONG time ago. It first happened on desktops, and its the same thing with phones. I’m ironically cycling ‘back’ to where I was when smartphones were young and keyboards were tangible - I just want good service, affordable service, and better battery life. I don’t wantt them
