Also EVERY exhaust sold for motorcycles are meant for off road use which is why they are rated over 80 decibels. Honda has been smart with this. Their race kit is banned but they have not created any restrictions for someone to purchase the kit and import it where ever they are in the world. The only people

Because is so hard to buy the kit and send it to yourself when you have 184k to drop on a bike? The only people who are complaining about this are buyers who make more sensible purchases. This isn’t a sensible purchase.

Why? Lots of people who have money and will own this just as an investment. Lots more who will ride it and get the race kit to where ever they are. Honda know’s this and that’s why they only slapped on a limiter vs throwing on a restrictive exhaust. Smart move on their part.

Well said!

Only restricted on the bike since they do not run a restrictive exhaust. Even the bike can have it’s ecu tuned to get the restriction lifted. The car will have a more restrictive exhaust and the limiter removed

He is slightly crossed up. More a reactionary move. Gotta move based on what you’re feeling sometimes.

And all i’ve said is riding off road is not going to help. Now if you say ride on road with a cheap bike, that would make a lot of sense since you need to learn and understand the control of a machine on asphalt rather than on dirt. Dirt riding gives you skills. No doubt but, they are still skills that are applicable

That is not the case. Throttle and brake control on the dirt are very different. The only thing shared is that your vehicle has a motor. Braking on dirt involves the use of the rear brake for the most part. Throttle control is different because body position is different on dirt. Maneuvering on dirt requires you to

Dirt bikes require a different skill set to maneuver when compared to riding on the street. Getting over bad habits picked up riding dirt bikes can be very difficult.

Dress for the slide not the ride. Gear can be uncomfortable but even a fall at 15mph will leave you with nasty damage. I’d rather crash and feel bad about the bike than be whisked away in an ambulance.

That’s the point though. The law of thermodynamics is still true. Jason still illustrates why the conclusion is wrong. Fact is that a lot of people who watched the MCM video assumed that was the right conclusion and have essentially allowed for less performance from their vehicle. The same can be said about tuning

Better video to quote from MCM comes up with the wrong conclusion.

Better video to quote from. MCM half asses its tests.

Bought this wonderful machine earlier this year. Bought it used for 6k of msrp. 2012 model, 2600 miles on the clock. Changed oil, tires and adjusted sag and she was good to go. Always loved the look of this gen and that color. Most of all the lack of electronics made me want the bike even more. Simple layout, works

I actually laughed out when I heard that the first time. Too bad barely anyone except for car folks get’s how idiotic that ad was.

And that’s subjective depending on how responsible a person you are. I’ve seen people be responsible about it and pull over or even be done by the time the signal changes but many don’t . Many just let the habit bleed into everything else. Not many people bother to take driving seriously enough to stop screwing around.

Just impatience man. I’ve fallen prey to being angry and getting pissed behind the wheel. Best to turn on some fun music and just enjoy the drive carefully and slowly.

Yeah. Staying away from rush hour traffic whether it’s in a car or on a bike has saved me a lot. After getting rear ended once I promised never to bother trying. No matter how cautious you are someone’s poor choice can leave a bad mark. Better to just try and avoid it as best as I can.

“I usually just get fed up with him 30 seconds into the video and quit.” LOL! Agreed

True! Patience goes a long way to make a ride pleasant. Also choosing time of travel makes a big difference!
