They did, but I never expected the production version would take styling cues from the Michael Bay version.

Yes! Thank you! It still doesn’t look as good as the previous one, but it’s a hell of a lot better.

God dammit, I was just starting to like the way the previous one looked!

Griff Tannen, anyone?

Quite possible. It worked for Saturn.

Looks to me like a mashup of the Volkswagen and MG logos.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Florida Man needs to be a reality show.

Finn McMissile? Anyone?

Does the “TS” stand for Totally Sweet, or Terrible Shit?

The crossover takeover has been a long time coming. Cars have been getting gradually taller for almost 20 years, while SUVs have been getting gradually lower, and they’ve basically met in the middle at this point. And weirdly, I’m not all that worked up about it.

National Association of Moronic Brand Loyalty Association...?

Yes! Finally a kindred soul! I drive a Leaf and love it, but my next vehicle will probably be a Hyundai Kona Electric (unless something I like better comes along). I liked Tesla early on, but I was never a fan of the “tablet on wheels” concept, and the Model 3 just doesn’t really appeal to me at all (especially with

How “older” is this Mustang? I was guessing SN95, but I doubt one of those could actually hit 150.

71K will get you a decently optioned-out Corvette C7 or a Porsche Cayman S. It will also get you a pretty damn nice used Tesla.

I was gonna say a first-gen Nissan Leaf - you can get a pretty good one for quite a bit less than 15 grand - but the 80-mile drive would be a stretch, especially as the battery ages. A second-gen Leaf would be perfect, but since it’s new, it’ll be a bit more than 15K.

I liked Elon in the early days of Tesla, but at this point...yeah, it kinda seems like he’s slowly becoming a supervillain. Even Tesla itself is becoming less appealing - looking at the interior of the Model 3, I’m reminded of how much I love me some buttons and switches, things it conspicuously lacks. Not to mention,

Rear: Ooooh!

It’s the Australian version, which didn’t have airbags in 1998. The North American model did have airbags, but I think they were the same other than that (although that hatchback body wasn’t available over here either).

Now playing

I’m sure the Civic was quite a safe car for its time. But a couple of years ago, this Australian crash test video made me rethink the safety of cars even 15 years old:
