There’s an embarrassment of riches in his filmography, but my first instinct is to go with Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, particularly for playing against type.

I actually think pretty much any scene in 5 with Kirk, Bones, and Spock just interacting is pretty great. The “I need my pain!” scene is a great piece of mini-theater.

I’ve been assuming the case set up at the end of Orient Express gets resolved at the beginning of this movie, accounting for why he’s in Egypt for this to begin with.

Yes, I remember finding that quite off-putting when I read the novel, though I ultimately enjoyed the book. By the time I watched the ‘78 movie, I didn’t see it as a detriment.

I can tell you this: he has a shockingly convoluted history, even by the standards of long-running comic book villains.

His stupidity not withstanding,  I’m honestly kind of baffled that a movie that’s wall-to-wall identical-sounding Van Morrison songs managed to have one stand out enough for them to notice.

It looks to me like they’re doing a reverse-Gilmore Girls and going to have her and Joel back together by the time it’s all said and done. Midge and Joel are probably endgame, sorry.

Just saw Cooper for the first time last month and he killed (given his stage show, you may interpret that however you like). Well worth it.

That "(ugh)" is uncalled for. Having a werewolf character named "Jack Russell" is fucking awesome.

Always loved these. They were cut on the VHS tape (yes) of the cartoon I had. For years afterward, my friends and I would randomly intone “We all wear masks...” in McFarlane’s Canadian Kermit voice at each other.

That sink isn't braced yet!

He really teed that one up, didn’t he?

Don’t know if you're already a fan, but there's a whole subgenre of "symphonic metal" out there that's quite the rabbit hole.

I’m not stupid enough to think Elba wouldn’t kill it, but yeah, I think the window for him as Bond has passed. Even if Wilson and Broccoli were up for it (and I’m curious, one day, to see what their successor caretakers do with the franchise), the timing just hasn’t been there. Even a mint specimen like Elba is going

Watch his Criterion closet video on YouTube. It’s only a few minutes long but his love of movies is contagious.

I’ve always been more concerned about the haircuts.

I’ve noticed this, too, which I found was another thing to appreciate about Into the Spider-verse (Nic Cage’s Spider-Man Noir lets us know he loooves punching Nazis).

This was such a great bit of casting.

Yup. I was cynical, too, until I read the description in the article, which makes it clear this is a leak and not a “leak.”

Cheating a little because it’s the whole exchange and not just the last line, but Touch of Evil has:
