I think either Di Maria or Aguero could because they are used to playing with those kind of strikers for their club teams.

Actually, double teams happen a lot, usually in offensive third. A winger brings ball up wide. A guy like van Persie run in box and both center backs follow him. That allows space behind him usually from 12 yd mark to 18 for another player to run free. That gives the winger options. It happens all the time. …
True, and honestly, I think Clint can draw the double team to open things up behind him. It's who you put behind him that will make the difference.
true, but even the guys I mentioned above aren't fabulous dribblers. They're good enough on their feet to get a shot off. My point is that having a "target" striker can open up field for other players due to an aerial threat in their arsenal.
I think we were just using the earler SK/Algeria post
wearing a knockoff jersey, too? or am I the only one that cheap??
somewhere in the middle of all that someone has to find a bathroom, fast, hahahaha
good strikers, but also guys that fill a certain role and play it well. of course those guys mentioned also have/had good partners, ie Rooney, Schwansteiger, Totti, Yaya....but they are all tall, control ball out of air, and can hold onto it and allow help to accumulate, and score out of the air on balls from the…
great goal by Slimani
I think that the definition of "target" striker needs to be broadened a little. I don't necessarily picture a hulking type of striker that only plays with back to basket and holds ball up. I also think of the guy that's alone up top that can do those things without being broad, but also draws double team that opens…
As a Man U fan one of my favorite players, and now ESPN studio analyst, was a poacher, and damn good at it - Van Nistleroy
I think dreads plays well for his role, plus lets Jones play a little more in offensive zone, too.
yes, because watching 350lb linemen with boobs grapple with each other for 5-7 secs at time is so damn manly.
I'm thinking that Adnan should have started instead of Edin today
or Putin
plus add a sad trombone at the end after Segura scores
I honestly don't know if this would work, or not, but I think I might try Clint up front with Bradley behind him and bring in Mix in Bradley's usual spot. It allows Bradley to only have to concentrate on linking up on offense, and I think Bradley can score goals, as well.
I also didn't realize that opposable thumbs were the only things that separated us from creatures of the wild.....
i'll call him an idiot...oh, he doesn't like soccer....ok...
gee, how many predictable anti-Cards comments will be flowing in this thread?
