I wonder about those caps as well! I guess since we know where most of the visible surface water/ice is, the focus then is to try and find it in the more barren regions of the planet.

You were incredibly helpful. I got at least 20 replies where people simply stated 'It's not methane'. Yours was the most in-depth and informative response. So thanks.
I feel like everyone should read the rest of the comments in a thread before posting. I've been 'corrected' about this about 50 times. And I paraphrase 'corrected', because at no point did I claim there was methane on Mars. I said there is methane on Titan, and wondered aloud what other possible substances the liquid…
I just got so angry reading your comment. And then you absolved my anger.
Don't crush muh dreams Martin-s!
Thanks, Hotscot :)
This guy has a fantastic way with color- I am going to use all of these as wallpaper.
At least it had a happy-ish ending... right? I had to pull my feet off the floor once the fish showed up.
Several other commenters have pointed that out and I finished the comment by wondering about other liquids. Nobody seemed to read the last part but I still got a lot of very intelligent responses.
My guess? It would be 7.5 inches, uncut.
If only people were required to use their instincts more often. We don't even have to get out of our car to buy food.
If it mutilates thirst as advertised, we need to get there- stat.
Thanks for the info. I now understand the differences in pressure required to change the state of methane, thanks to user Tybera- I just used the methane example in hopes that smart folks like yourself might suggest other types of liquids
Thanks for the lesson :) It was helpful. I was afraid I would get slapped with sardonic 'state fact as though it's obvious, with a belittling question mark' type of responses.
I'm not a smart person when it comes to science, but I'm curious if it has to be water? I know they're going with this based on the 'iron/water mixture' idea, but I know that there are methane lakes on Titan so I'm wondering what other possible liquids it could be.
I dunno, there's some definite uncanny valley stuff going on when you focus on the lower eyelid.
Man, if only we lived in this reality where every person on the planet had every fact about everything, ever.
Maybe it just all boils down to jealousy. Games, computers, smart phones social websites are all techie fields as well as integral parts of modern society, and techies get to be at the very heart of it.
I agree with everything you just said, and have all the respect for you and your trade, but I have to point out that your industry is still relatively small in population, compared with the rest of the Bay Area. And given the state of California's finances, it just seems inevitable that a growing industry would be at…
It's not often I say this kind of thing... but FUCK THESE GUYS.
