I’m glad Ingram is getting this much support, but it just underscores how easy this would have been to do when John Boyega, Kelly Marie Tran or even Daisy Ridley were getting avalanches of hate when the sequels came out. What changed?

Oh I know. We are in total agreement on this. I read that quote and almost did a spit take, it was so bad. There’s always a point a which no one has complained, dipshits. Until someone complains, then you better have a better excuse than “nobody ever complained before all these people who are complaining now.”
Weird Al fans? They’re probably pretty chill.
It’s interesting that, in a story talking about all the obvious racism she is encountering, your response is “Here are the not-racist reasons I don’t like her”
So, will Facebook ban users who message racist crap to strangers for life, or until they pass a community college sociology course?
Anyone commenting with a review of the performance, character, or show, positive or negative, is completely missing the point, and pushes forward the dangerous idea that treating actors as human beings deserving of respect, free from bigotry is somehow conditional. It is not. There is absolutely no excuse for the kind…
Kelly Marie Tran is somewhere saying, “Must be nice.”
Funny how Disney didn’t do that shit with John Boyega.
I mean, I don’t begrudge Disney remaking their past IPs, but usually with some kind of a new spin on them. Here, they haven’t even redesigned Pinnochio. It feels so rote and slavish to the original, that casting Erivo as the Blue Fairy feels like like an attempt at something new, than it is Disney trying to score…
DiMaggio: I’d like to discuss my compensation
Any money that doesn’t go to the crew and talent goes to the executives and shareholders.
And attacking pronouns is a very common way of going after trans people. You can’t make a “play on pronouns” and then pretend that doesn’t connect directly to the rights of trans people (and nonbinary people, and queer people in general.)
Hence the “in all seriousness”
Heh, it’s a meme about Tippet being credited as ‘dinosaur supervisor’ and people blaming him for the raptors getting loose like it actually happened.
In all seriousness, it’s worth remembering that despite being remembered as the first major CGI movie (although it had been used in limited amounts in earlier films of course), Jurassic Park still had a ton of traditional practical effects created by Tippet and others.
Yet another feelgood article about Phil Tippet that ignores his dinosaur supervision (or lack thereof!) at Jurassic Park.
Like you said, he hasn’t been a writer for Family guy in a long time (2011 IIRC)
Javier Bardem says he was “very moved” by the Dune: Part Two script
I can’t decide which is the better cliched reaction to this news:
Now that reviving old Fantasy flops is all the rage, can they do one of these unnecessary live action adaptations of The Black Cauldron!? A film that might actually benefit from a rework.
