It's worth it to start from the beginning in my opinion…having just finished Red Country, my one gripe is that Logen's entire arc doesn't really have the same impact if you haven't read the trilogy.  Plus it shouldn't take as long as you expect…they are all as propulsive as all hell.

I feel the same way about parts of Pick a Bigger Weapon, but the highlights off that, Party Music, and Steal This Album are just so damn good.  I assure you that "Me and Jesus the Pimp" ( https://www.youtube.com/wat… ) is worth a few minutes of your time, and I like "Last Blunt", "Ghetto Manifesto", and "5 million

When I heard that this was gonna be his movie soundtrack I had Idlewild flashbacks, but this is pure The Coup greatness (maybe I'll skip the Cassius Green song occasionally).

Counterpoint: the beats are what sets The Coup apart from other "message" and political acts.  They make the revolution sound so fucking fun!

I'm not sure how to feel about this.  It definitely set the tv record for Shumways per second, but I'd prefer it if my name wasn't considered inherently humorous.

I might say this on all the walkthroughs, but I LOVE YOU AV CLUB.  Gonna rip open my new dvd set tonight and play along…

@avclub-1fff65b467231ccb1cd18df4b4d88d9a:disqus Everybody Hates Chris, Idiocracy, and the Old Spice commercials are three things that are so fucking great about Terry Crews.  Roughly in that order.

If you had logged in directly to disqus.com at some point (or possibly other sites that use disqus?), your browser had a cookie remembering your login information.  It's the same shady shit as the facebook ads that are able to list your friends' names no matter what site you are on.  Manually logging out of each site

@avclub-c5fe25896e49ddfe996db7508cf00534:disqus  Dave McKean's Cages has (at least) one scene that stands out in my mind as an excellent depiction of music in sequential art.

I don't care, but I reserve the right to do so retroactively if I don't like the album.
