The pluralization makes even less sense in MLS. These teams have actual names, like Sounders and Timbers. At least with countries, they’re just “Spain” and not “Spain Tigers”, etc etc. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to refer to Seattle as a group when the group is the Sounders.
