Well, just about every word of that is profoundly awful.

Fuck this is just so sad.

I knew some comments would be nasty, yet here I am. I am sad. I loved the first season and a half of Glee, and Naya was bloody fantastic on it. What an awful way to (presumably) go. I haven’t watched Glee since it jumped the shark (imho) during season 2, but I may watch some tonight.

lol LATWO has me dying, thank you

Yep. Fuck em. This is exactly the motivation behind signing on to a letter like this— they’re clawing their way to try and remain relevant for who they once were, for what they‘ve always believed, resting entirely on some prior perceived trustworthiness... rather than just taking a moment to listen, reflect and learn

Sadly, I was unclear. I like the song and meant to say I hate myself for liking it. It’s ok.

I hate it too. I listened to that song after my ex and I split because it perfectly summed up everything for me. I hardly think he was feeling the same, although one time we passed each other and he burst into tears.

I mean, you are absolutely correct, but at least the Chicks removed the Dixie reference entirely.

I love Debutants Pavillion, if they don’t hear your cry i may need to start a country band and use it.

Someone on Twitter suggested Bitch Plantation.

Because the actual Lady A says they can’t. She has prior claim and therefore wins, unless she can’t afford an attorney. They’re trying to use the court as a cudgel to steal her name.

The problem with both their attempts at stealing Lady A and The Dixie Chicks now just being The Chicks is they are too worried about continued name recognition. Prince changed his name to an unpronounceable symbol and it was fine.  They should just go big, and weird.  Maybe they will be consigned to the memory hole

Lady All Lives Matter

I also unhelpfully submit -

Remember Natasha Tynes, the lady who got “cancelled” because she tried to get an MTA worker fired for eating on the train?

These so-called cancelled people still produce works, yes? And when they open their mouths, they make the news, yes? As far as I know, they can still make money in some other capacity, yes?

Even good swimmers can drown. Last month we had a local 18yo boy drown in a small calm lake when canoeing and he was a lifeguard. The fact neither Naya nor the local boy were wearing their life vests also contributed.

Multiple people have drowned there. There’s a lot of underwater debris in that lake— downed trees and such. And the water is shockingly cold year-round. Even if she jumped in feet-first, she may have gotten caught up in debris and was unable to swim to the surface. Add the cold water temp and the odds are really

It could have been a medical condition, she could have been drinking, she could have gone in headfirst and hit her head, she could have gotten tangled in underwater debris, the water could’ve been too cold and she went into shock, the water could’ve been too hot and she got overheated, she could’ve been underwater and

It’s pretty petrifying to be stuck not knowing, but since her son was found, I think we know what happened. Genuinely cannot believe how much this cast has suffered. It’d be heartbreaking enough if she weren’t such a talent, but it’s worth acknowledging that she was excellent.
