Oh man, there are a lot of gems on this list, so many of them don’t even need any more talking up, so I’ll just champion Priceless. I already have it and have watched it at least once a year, five times in the first year alone. Once you get the beats and at the end realize like a lot of french farce that it's not so…
Bah sarcasm doesn't translate well to text sometimes.
He could be an old high school or college friend of Wade.
Is the chilled out approach a criticism or a compliment? I enjoyed it myself, maybe because I could see it being more effective in communicating these concepts to an audience that is otherwise less open to hearing it.
I think it was fine because it was about a white person and how he’s cool with black people. Casual viewers here without much background in modern American racial politics really seem to dig this movie, and I had some of the most weird conversations trying to explain to people why it isn’t really a good movie.
Just trousers and a shirt, though. In the Collins household, no jackets required.
It’s been on the most watched top 10 list in France since it got released. Still fuckin is. It’s garbage, it’s kinda insult to us, and yet... Oh well, in any case, it’s absolutely easy to explicate why ^^
And it’s a social media juggernaut. Even my boring, politics-focused, old man Twitter timeline is full of people talking about this show. It’s clearly one of the biggest Netflix hits of the year in terms of viewership and media impact.
Plus, it gives the Netflix executives a good reason to jet off the Paris on occasion.
But is that a lot? It doesn’t say anything about how many people watched each episodes.
Yes, I think we've cracked the case.
Who was the Rob that Tilda referred to?? I feel ridiculous that “Rob” was the only reference I couldn’t figure out.
I think trope of Chinese families having a lot of children might be considered offensive, but I think as big a problem is that the family of crime fighters might make the concept too kid oriented. Which might be ok if Charlie Chan was intended as family fare for Disney+, but it wouldn’t work if the franchise wanted…
Ugh race-mingling is the worst!
Yeah, I saw “(future Grey’s Anatomy star Kevin McKidd)“ and thought “why is this not ‘Rome badass Kevin McKidd?’”
a lot of Asian-Americans would be forgiving if Chris Tucker could be part
It would probably be cheaper for her to get the rights to The Gallery of Madame Tsui-Long.
I think Charlie Chan could be a great movie. I don't think the name sounds off. Fu Manchu is a thousand times worse.
