I ordered the DVD sets for Tales Of The City and More Tales Of The City from the UK and ripped them. They weren’t that expensive and the cases have some cool 70s-inspired artwork for each series.

When the “Previously On” does most of the heavy work in explaining your character’s actions—referencing things viewers have long since forgotten and which haven’t been shown in clear unambiguous action over the course of seasons—there’s a problem with the storytelling.

When they’re adapting material, they do fairly well. When they have had to create original material it has ranged from great to absolutely dire (the dialogue has certainly taken a nosedive). Don’t insult Dynasty like that. The characters always stayed true to who they were. The reason it started to suck was the outlandishness and/or dull nature of the storylines.
