I did not think that Illinois of all schools could be that ruthless.

Jokes are always funnier when you have to explain them.
Bobby Knight truly is one of the best coaches in basketball history. His motion offense pretty much changed the way teams run their offense and variations of it are seen all over the place including the NBA. He was also one of the early adapters of the three point shot and understood what a major weapon it could be.
Jerry Jones has never done anything remotely similar to what Snyder does. People may not like him and his ego, but Jones runs his team very professionally and doesn’t throw employees under the bus to get out of a contract.
Look, nothing Buss did was illegal or immoral. But I think putting tight restrictions on how an asset can be managed via a trust isn’t a smart thing to do. Circumstances change. Trustees and beneficiaries have competing priorities.
Because I think trustees should be given more leeway over the control and direction of the trust.
Then just cut them out of the trust entirely. Or give them a smaller percentage.
As someone who has dealt with similar trusts, but on a much smaller scale, as part of his job, these things kinda piss me off. Yeah Buss had every legal right to do what he did, but I think dictating how an asset should be used and how its controlled after you die is unfortunate. Can you blame either Jim or Johnny? …
I’m 48. Not a boomer. I’m solidly GenX and have no problem with my WebTV.
I can see why Georgetown is screwed here. JTIII clearly isn’t getting it done, and finding a good coach to fix the mess and deal with the crap the Thompson backers will throw there way will be exceedingly difficult. I mean, Georgetown doesn’t have to look too far for a program that had a legendary coach who lead them…
Him and every other NBA coach ever...
So I am one of the 40% of the audience that NASCAR has lost over the past 15 years or so. These types of changes are not going to get me to tune back in. I never watched to see who won the season series - I watched to see who was going to win that specific race. And I think it just became too generic for me. Every…
So they play football at your baseball games? Weird.
So to speak.
Oh how I wish employers could use the phrase “roly-poly” in the American workplace...
From the ad: “He put his family first, he was loyal to his friends, he was committed to his community, he rejected both cynicism and envy, he had a quiet dignity, and he always believed tomorrow would be a brighter day — if you worked hard enough today.”
He had different interests than you do. Do you think he would have disparaged yours had you predeceased him?
Did Mookie break the unwritten rules of bowling?
Quote from the original article: “The only way keeping a plane at home would be legal would be if he got a variance from the local zoning board.
He’s a great coach. But he had Jerry Krause (underrated) and Jerry West (legend) getting players for him. He has shown zero signs that he can be a general manager.
