Every game on GOG is DRM-free, correct? Then how does this prevent me from, you know...stealing the game?

The disconnect in their strategy between “these are things people like to do” and “these are things people will want to do in a gamestop” is mind-boggling.
People always forget about those Konami ones. As a Turtles fan I always kind of wanted that one. I did have the Bucky O’Hare one. (Which is another forgotten 90s thing.)
As someone who loves retro -- I still have a lot of my 90s gaming doodads, from the Game Boy Camera to a Genesis arcade stick -- I'm just baffled, at least for that price tag ($15 for all four, maaaaybe). I still have a bunch of these things in a bin; 98% are almost flat out unplayable (Madden, Hook, Sonic 2, SF2),…
I agree. These little handhelds were prototypes, maybe even just templates, for mobile gaming. They played their role, there’s no reason to go back to them. It’d be like using a calculator watch when there’s an iPhone in your pocket.
You are basically correct, so I’m going to buy No man’s sky on sale instead of two heinous Tiger Handheld revival objects.
True. A lot of these will be purchased and never opened.
No, these games were bad even back then. Nintendo made some good LCD games that were actually fun to play (e.g. Donkey Kong, or Gold Cliff), but those Tiger ones were the pits.
They’ll be big for collectors... the masses will not be running to the stores and clearing shelves. These were a footnote that should remain in the annals of gaming history.
I collect old LCD games, but the Tiger games are some of the worst. Even Radio Shack was able to make LCD games that were actually fun to play, but Tiger simply didn’t seem to have a clue. Nintendo is still the king of LCD games, with so many of the G&W series still being extremely fun to play.
Making a lot of assumptions that gamestop’s going to be in business this fall.
I think I had a Sonic 3 one. And yes, they were terrible. Surely even nostalgia can’t save these.
Had a power rangers one shaped like a gameboy that had interchanging cartridges.
As a kid who loved Sonic but didn’t have the money (or parents) to get a Genesis, these handhelds were the closest thing I got to playing those games back in the 90's. I remember getting them for Xmas.
I don’t know why they are recreating them exactly like the old. I mean the screen itself I would think has to be more expensive than a plain black and white x by x resolution screen. I mean those didn’t even have pixels, they were more like sprites in fixed locations that would darken to imply movement. Wouldn’t a…
There were certain things that fall in the category of “passable because it’s all we had” and me playing the shit out of these was due solely to that. But now... There’s a landfill in New Mexico clearing space for when they undoubtedly overestimate demand for these.
Tiger Handhelds are back
When is the last time a gumball machine gave you a rock instead of a red one?
