Agreed. Friends who cut hair for fashion and movies use scissors that cost hundreds of dollars. I looked up the prices on Ernest Wright's site and they seemed quite reasonable and the finished product is beautiful. I like to live simply and have a few very good things that last forever with daily use.

That is a feel good idea and widely held. The mining for rare earth elements for the giant battery storage systems (and all our modern gadgets) that are needed for wind/solar will ruin a lot more of the natural world and recycling them will be a giant problem.
