I am like that too, but you would be surprised at how many people see you and like you when you haven’t even talked to them. They are human too, and even if they don’t have a potential date, they might have some good suggestions. It is no fun, but I have found that actually talking to people about appropriate stuff…

Tell female friends and if it is appropriate, co-workers ( particularly those that might have children your age). People who have adult kids know other people with adult kids, and many in that network love to matchmake.
