Whoa, sorry to have an opinion on how to pronounce an acronym. If we all want to be technically correct, we would say G, I, F. But we are abr. an abbreviation, so who's to say how I should say GIF.

I will continue to use a hard G, because the first word in the acronym GIF is Graphics. Try to pronounce graphics with a soft G, it doesn't work.
