@Daamian: I'm not saying that those would be normal conditions, but rather conditions for testing purposes. In the life of a cable, it may be bent and twisted or left completely alone until the device is no longer used. I move my gaming system from room to room based on the availabilty of a tv, because of roommates.

@worsethannormal: Yes i know that HDMI cables transfer digital signals, and that digital signals either work or dont. There are 19 pins in an HDMI cable and if one of the pins is malfuctioning, than wouldn't it be safe to assume that quality can be affected.

I think the fine people at Kotaku should do some research for them selves... and include normal use conditions for the cables: bending the cables repeatedly, frequent pluging and unpluging, and visual performance in whites, blacks, and colors (while watching blu-ray).

@mikeman06: I agree with this over the article. My cheap HDMI cables, 3 of them, all had a grainy black. But the Monster Cable I bought is much clearer in all aspects.

@YourSaltyPinkDeathNuts: exactlt what I meant. exFAT is the 64 bit version of the FAT filing system therefore often refered to as FAT 64.

I will only install a custom firmware if there is support for FAT 64 or NFTS external hard drives. I have two PS3's because my fiance had one before she moved in with me. Wouldn't lose much if it bricked it.
