That apparently never happened according to the comments here. Kellogg said the child’s hymen had a “scar” that was only associated with painful penetration. Turned out it was a totally, completely normal variation of a regular hymen, no scarring, and that method of diagnosing trauma has been debunked.

The doctor recanted the medical testimony since it was based on a now debunked method. There was no additional trauma.
And the hymen was intact. It simply had a ridge, which the examiner decided was a scar, but which was simply a normal variation.

Also, vaginal trauma used to be determined by if the hymen was not intact. A terribly inaccurate and dated idea that only sexual contact breaks a hymen.

You are leaving out a vital section of this story. This happened at a time when America was gripped with “Satanic Panic” and the medical examiner testified that the women were involved in satanic rituals due to the fact that , in her words, it was a common practice of lost lesbians. Don’t know how you missed that.
