All I’m sayin’ yo.

I just love Millay. I read this poem when I was fifteen in Seventeen magazine, of all places, and it just blew me away.

So really, it comes down to, “She wasn’t important to me, so she’s not important.”

A lot of what you read and your opinions about her might have had to do with the fact that her history was almost exclusively written about and recorded by men. (Even if you were reading academic texts on her the primary cited source for such things was mostly male academics.) Nancy Mitford’s book (which the script is

The book it was based on was good and favors Zelda as the real genius in the situation. I have read the initial script and it’s decent and very much about a unique thinker whose gender made it hard for her to have her writing taken seriously. It’s not a poor white girl story so much as it’s a poor human story. But

She was actually a very talented artist who became the inspiration behind a generation of women that were progressive and transgressive, and who was unfortunately plagiarized by her more famous husband. Her story is so much more than that of a flapper, even if they were modeled in large part on her image.

I think it’s great casting. Zelda is such an interesting historical figure. I hope that this is really her story, despite the inevitable part F. Scott will have to play in the movie since he was an enormous part of her life. She was supposedly a magnetic person, though, as well as talented and somewhat manic. I think

What if *gasp* a WOMAN did it?

f u

She was so much more than that. To boil her down to that stereotype is a disservice to her.

He absolutely stole material from her, and exploited her talent for his own gain. They were both highly-flawed, but she was mentally ill whereas he was just a straight-up dickbag. I honestly can’t read his stuff or Hemingway’s since I detest them both as misogynist tools.

It’ll only work if Zelda gets her proper due, which given the predominance of white, male writers in Hollywood, I’m not optimistic.

The problem is that no one cares about Pokemon anymore

The plural of Pokemon is Pokemon

She um... she winds up with someone else...

Hey! Former UNH library employee here too. I used to work with Bob. He was a sweet, kooky dude who used to love to give all the young kids book recommendations and he always remembered what we liked and what we didn’t like. I swear I mentioned Brideshead Revisited to him one time and he talked to me about Evelyn

I have worked with the UNH library before, for my job. I can assure you that they are amazing and also desperately in need of funds, as are most university libraries. This is a horrible decision and UNH deserves all the public shame they are receiving over it.

Well, voting third party so you can remain morally pure which is effectively the same as casting a vote for Trump/Pence/GOP will definitely ensure that will happen.

Look up a guy at Harvard named B.C. Burden. He did the definitive analysis of the 2000 election and determined, mathematically, that YES, Nader swung that election. I'll take the word of a Harvard statistician over an internet commentator, but that's just me.

Also, we don’t live in a democracy.
