I’m an immigrant as well and this has well and truly bummed me out. I was just like you and EVERYONE else who wrote him off. What I didn’t count on was that this country is far more virulently racist than I imagined. I underestimated that and that has made my very sad.

I want to ask my Italian friends how they handled Berlusconi. They have experience with this shit. This has also been humbling. People really miss that folks supporting trump don’t care how other people react. They already agree with what trump says. He’s not going to say anything about Hillary that they haven’t or wouldn’t say.

Yea I’m with you. I don’t have any Republican friends who will vote for Hilary over Trump. They may not have voted for him in the primary, but they hate Hilary/the Clintons enough to vote for Trump in the general election. Or they saw Trump as a lesser evil than Cruz was, so they have no problem voting for him now.

At this point, yes, Trump will accumulate enough pledged delegates to win the nomination on the first ballot. The only way the GOP can stop him is if they change the delegate voting rules via the rules committee, which meets prior to the convention.

I wish I had your confidence. No one predicted Trump would win the nomination but he has. Lot’s of things can happen between now and November.
