How do the kids have access to the vehicle if they don’t have keys?

Geico is notorious for being an exceptional advertisement generator and absolutely horrible insurer. Basically worthless for paying headache-less claims. But haha boy those commercials are funny, so I guess I’ll buy their shit policy because lizards with accents!

This isn’t targeted at you specifically, but it’s truly disturbing to me at how ridiculously subservient to corporations that we as a society have become to accept bullshit like this as normal and acceptable.

NO, I did not and none of my friends did either. We did other naughty stuff but not car theft.

But if the kids DID go on a joyride they would not be covered so there is no risk for the insurance company!

I came here to read the comments and got here too early. Can’t wait.

Of course this selfish arse calls the incident an “accident” and not a collision or crash which is what it was. An accident is if a deer runs onto the road and you swerve to avoid it and hit another vehicle or stationary object. I hope he is never allowed to get on a bike again, or to drive a car for that matter,

I don’t think Toyota can lecture me on EVs until they actually make a Prime for actual sale.

Dude. That’s either a Mercedes GLC or GLA. The total cost of the car is thus between $34k and $55k. The total cost of the car.

And I’ll add, since you mention insurance fraud which this almost certainly is, the ironic thing is no insurance company would accept a $35K quote for this type of damage and this guy is under no obligation to accept that quote either. Guy 100% needs to get a very vindictive lawyer to go after this scammer.

Yoooo, Turo is hell. I have rented though them without any issues for a long time. Super pleasant until there was the one time where something went wrong. Turo 100% protects the hosts of the vehicles and loves damage claims because they stick 20% on top. Its free money to them and the more the hosts scam the more they

yeah. your payments can be as low as $0 a month if you just pay $65k in cash.

You’d think that, but when Maine implemented some pretty drastic conditions around buying and selling scrap metal, thefts plunged. Maine, having more summer-only homes than anywhere else in the nation, had a HUGE problem with copper theft long before catalytic converter theft became a thing. But the same restrictions

I’m guessing it’s a bit easier to take a stolen catalytic converter to a different state where I live than in Hawaii.

Toyota is just subtly letting us know they have a lot of shit in the works that they just don’t want getting out.

They were kind of on a “light” naming kick. The cars in the Chrysler lineup that the Neon took the place of were named the Shadow and the Sundance.

i can’t help but love the idea of these cars but every time i see one i say... ugh what a horrible name. who the hell names a car Neon?

I have come within a half second of running over a bicyclist twice.  Both times they were riding against traffic. (i.e. the wrong way).

Bicycles are considered vehicles everywhere I’ve ever lived. They are expected to use the road just like cars, signal movement like cars, stop at lights/signs like cars.  The whole bit.

I will defend the left turn arrow. No it’s not warranted at every single intersection, but it is really necessary in certain spots where you would probably need to sit through 4 or 5 light cycles before you could even hope to get a gap.
