I think that Pink is right in that we absolutely should be encouraging more women to be lauded for their brains and talents (especially in this instagram/selfie obsessed culture we’ve created), but I don’t think we need to do that by criticizing Kim Kardashian or Amber Rose whose choices are just as valid as anyone…

Maybe that’s a dumb thing that they should stop doing.

There’s a lot of internalized misogyny on display in the way women respond to Kim Kardashian. We still have a long way to go.

I’d agree with you if Bette didn’t have a history of slut-shaming and criticizing younger women. Bette is successful. Had an incredible career. That doesn’t mean she can’t be a hypocrite and hater. She is coming off more as an out of touch has been than an insightful and thoughtful artist.

I don’t understand Midler’s comment though. It has a completely false premise. Kim didn’t post a nude selfie to show something we haven’t seen before.

He had eye cancer when he was a kid, or something like that.

He got into an accident as a kid and developed congenital glaucoma. Doctor’s managed to save one eye. As to why he isn’t wearing an eye patch? Because he fucking owns it, in my opinion.
