movie, and
movie, and
Especially since it cost them $2 million. That’s his rate. Even if he does a bad job, they still have to pay him the 2 mil.
People aren’t burning Chappelle’s Show DVDs. They’re saying that they wouldn’t have gone to the show if they knew he was performing.
God forbid what was acceptable 50 years ago isn’t still acceptable today. Progress is the enemy!
I still can’t believe they cast Santa Claus in this movie.
These kind of if so and so were still alive they’d be vilified statements are also incredibly moronic and useless arguments. Carlin was an incredibly smart and thoughtful comedian who didn’t just go around spewing warmed over right wing talking points disguised as jokes. Chappelle’s gun that identified as a knife line…
He’s infamously said “I’m team TERF” (so people who think trans women aren’t women) and “gender is a fact” in support of JK Rowling saying the same thing.
Chappelle is old and over the hill. He has nothing funny left in him, but he wants attention. So like any worthless person, he panders to bigotry to get it.
Lol, my man, I’m pretty left of center, but most of Carlin’s positions and rhetoric would make me look like Mitt Romney. Dude literally talked about getting rid of golf courses to house the homeless, has been talking about the environment since the 70s, and is about as anti-capitalist as any comic in history. I’m…
I don’t agree. There is a difference between jokes about “white people” and trans people. Trans people are a heavily discriminated against group. It is a group of people in this country who commit suicide at an alarming rate, especially in places where their rights are more at risk.
I mean, if I’m going to pay to see a live stand-up act, I’d expect to hear controversial and offensive jokes.
This type of thing is so dumb. Carlin was a hardcore lefty and thoughtful, and he consistently adjusted to the era. Being politically incorrect to Carlin was truly standing up against censorship by the state and corporations. I have zero idea what he’d be like in today’s world, but you have zero idea either. I doubt…
Mulaney was the only guy who dropped Dave Becky after the Louis CK thing became public. Mulaney is also obsessed with his image as a good guy. This is unexpected.
This makes me so happy. It’s wonderful when a truly great indie film actually succeeds. What’s more, a good chunk of the continued presence in theatres has come by word of mouth. The film has its advertising, sure, but it’s not nearly as much as the major studios, yet you see stories on Twitter (many of them promoted…
This is literal conservative comedian jokes. X identified as Y is Babalon Bee trash. Jesus fucking Christ on a cracker this is pathetic. At least Tim Heidecker is doing better.
…just your regular reminder that stand-ups will always band together because “being allowed to say whatever I want on stage” always trumps “ not being an asshole”
Or he will play out his contract with Momma Kardashian and spend the next five years in a tumultuous relationship and appear in the Kardashians various reality shows until he snaps, walks away and goes insane while designing his own horrible fashion line and starting his own church to funnel his money tax free.
I find the fact that a performer as lazy and one-note as Pete Davidson managed to remain on SNL for so long very symptomatic of how complacent Lorne Michaels has become over the last 10 years or so. I wish Casey Wilson or Jenny Slate had remained on the show for half as long as he did.
And thus ends the longest and most ambitious Wish ever granted by the Make a Wish Foundation.
