The toasting of Mirror Georgiou was a WILD choice. Her character might have worked if she was a regular terran transported to the prime universe, even if she was an equivalent starship captain, but to have the literal evil emperor get a tearful send off because she’d had about enough character development to not kill

Why would they? He’s their bread and butter, and there’s no reason to believe any exec at the company actually disagrees with anything he does or says.

ooh nice.

Now playing

The amount of simultaneous micro-acting happening on his face at any one moment is what makes the performance for me. There’s like a minimum of three intense emotions constantly bubbling under the surface, it really creates this incredibly tense feeling where you honestly don’t know how he’s going to react to

I heard rumours that the cast had limited scripts for the last act. Nobody seemed to directly interact with Luke, he mostly stands on the other side of the room to the rest of the cast. A shame really, it should have been Kyle Katarn.

What did people even like about Wonder Woman? Everyone seems to have decided it’s ‘the good DC movie’ but I don’t really get why. Kinda understand giving it points for managing to make a female-lead movie far quicker than Marvel managed, but beyond that it was still pretty dreary, and Gadot wasn’t a compelling enough

I heard one of his cameos played on a podcast and thought it was Tom Scharpling at first.

Oh I totally agree, I was more thinking its a way for them to pick and choose, and a potential earth shattering event that could introduce stuff like the very concept of mutants by messing with timelines /universes.

each to their own, most people I know thought it was funny as fuck.

Good chance Raimi’s Strange movie plays a big part in this. Unite* the disparate continuities. Bring in x-men, set the scene for a live action spider-verse, and if they have time finally include Bruce Campbell Mysterio.

I agree, tho I think for better or worse there’s no getting the toothpaste back in the tube now, and with rumours that some of the cast weren’t given the last several pages of next week’s finale, we’re likely in for something bigger than any of the previous reveals. Still if my totally unfounded hope for Kyle katarn

Yeah non-zero chance this movie continues to be in development hell for so long that Isaac does a Wahlberg and ends up playing Big Boss or something (old mgs 4 snake? I honestly can't keep track of the timelines and family/clone tree of that story)

You forgot 'most likely: this film continues to languish in development hell and next we hear about it will be in five years with a different director and star attached'

I think he’s an interesting choice, I think a movie based on a game series based on a mix of singular fourth wall breaking video game commentary and references to existing movies the creator thinks are cool is probably a bad idea, but for those who are totally against it I hope you take solace in the fact this film

See I hesitated cause its always ‘tusken raiders’ also sounds kinda racist.

That was my hesitation. His reputation was entirely based on looking cool over like ten minutes of screen time total, 1 of which had him dying in an extremely goofy bit of slapstick (eu notwithstanding). Now here we are with a badass Fett who immediately earned the reputation he had.

I gotta admit I was extremely iffy about bringing back Fett. But god damn it worked. Morrison being too old for the role was nicely sidestepped by his sarlacc digestion scars, and there were some real neat tricks up his sleeves (watch those knee rockets!). Those incredibly brutal armour smashing blows from his (sand

i’ll give you that!

You’re probs right in it being confusing to the audience. Same reason Ahsoka didn't explain that she wasn't a jedi and left the order before it fell. I’m struggling to think of a real world analogue. It’s like knowing the names of the members of the supreme court from when you were 9, and also their home towns?

i finally watched buckaroo banzai the other day, which was enlightening.
