Stiiiiillllllll racist. Like hugely, shitty racism.
Stiiiiillllllll racist. Like hugely, shitty racism.
And rampant shitty racism against a minority that often gets cast as neutered and too smart for their own good.
And yet:
Which is why I fixated on the completely superfluous "men with doctorates" node and pointed out the sexist implications of including it.
I actually emailed the company, and the response was "we're just going off their villain names" so I asked if all the "doctors" and "professors" on the list were actually holding doctorates, given the way the nodes are organized. No response, yet.
Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel. Also, Dr. Pamela Lillian Isley. There's a node for "men with doctorates" but not one for women. I don't see why that would be so hard.
Since when is Harley Quinn not a doctor? Or did the boobs disqualify her from that position?
Sounds like you might really enjoy SuperFight. I've found that it pushes the humor much harder than the offensiveness.
Thank you. I love it when people don't believe that story because "No man would do that!"
I mean that women get treated that way regardless of their sexuality. Ask a lesbian about how men treat them when they say no to advances.
I saw them at Mars Cheese Castle.
no I understand what your point is. You're pulling a #NotAllMen argument in the face of my #YesAllWomen evidence. And the thing is, it doesn't matter that not all men are assholes because the ones that are don't go around with tattoos on their foreheads declaring their status. I can't look at a guy and know if he…
The root of my argument is not that I hate men (I don't, I actually like men a lot, which is why I date them and am friends with many). The root of my argument is that one of the worst case scenarios for a woman being hit on by a man she doesn't know is sexual assault, and that it's so common that women operate under…
I don't think it's just "crass and silly gamesmanship." One of the guys I asked out called me several terrible things, including a homophobic slur. Again: I (a woman) was asking out him (a man) and apparently that made me a lesbian. And worthy of threatening physically.
I'm sorry that my fear of getting assaulted is hard for you to stomach. That's such a burden for you to bear.
Like what? Voting with your wallet? Making your opinion known, perhaps via social media? Serious question though, what else do you expect people to do?
As someone who's organized two of those at this point, that is a full time job filled with a lot of sacrifice. I'm not saying no one will do it, I am saying that there needs to be something between that level of effort and a hashtag.
